This position, under the direction of the Hazard Mitigation Unit Manager and State Hazard Mitigation Officer (SHMO), will provide support in the development and implementation of federal and state Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) programs, including but not limited to the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP), Flood Mitigation Assistance Program, Pre-Disaster Mitigation, and Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities Program. In this role, the employee will assist the State Hazard Mitigation Officer in all aspects of grants management, including but not limited to project identification and selection, providing technical assistance to applicants, reviewing and processing project applications, assisting in conducting necessary cost-benefit and environmental reviews, processes reimbursement requests, and providing project implementation support and necessary status reports on funded projects. The employee assists in developing and delivering guidance and training for state and local officials on mitigation programs. This position is required to perform all duties in a bias free manner.
