Van Oord

Maintenance Engineer

Van Oord Rotterdam

YOUR IMPACT
In the role of Maintenance Engineer, your contribution can make a difference in the necessary development to make the maintenance strategy of our ships future-proof.

You contribute to including maintenance in the design of new ships. This is done on the basis of desired availability, reliability and maintainability. RAMS analyzes and “lessons learned” are the basis. Here you bring theory and practice together and know how to optimize this in a design.

You focus on increasing reliability and optimizing maintenance costs for our ships. You do this by actively (co-)drawing a risk analysis based on RAMS methodology, supplemented by analyzes of technical data from the maintenance system. You regularly consult with different teams, after which you make and present the analyzes.

  • You identify opportunities for improvement and come up with concrete proposals. You work towards a proactive way of working, in which coordination with internal customers plays an important role;
  • In your work you seek contact with operational colleagues to improve the optimum between preventive and corrective maintenance;
  • You actively contribute to improving the safety of maintenance work as part of the RAMS system.
