The teacher shall prayerfully help students learn attitudes, skills, and subject matter that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christians to the praise and glory of God.
The teacher is to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in a school learning environment (K3 – 12th) that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their vocal musical potential. The teacher prepares students for meaningful lives by contributing to their educational and social development.
Teacher Job Duties include but are not limited to:
Ability to develop students’ musical technique and style for school and competitive performances
Ability to develop and implement a wide variety of appropriate vocal activities for students of varying abilities and talents
Ability to organize, coordinate, and orchestrate semester musical performances
Integrate Biblical principles and perspectives throughout all curriculums from a Biblical worldview
Maintain a personal appearance that is a Christian role model of cleanliness, modesty, good taste, and in agreement with school policy
Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies
Use acceptable English in written and oral communication; speak with clear articulation
Demonstrate proficient active listening skills to understand and adapt to students’ various learning needs
Demonstrate excellent organization and time management skills
Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and assessments that are per established procedures
Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction
Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities
Observe and evaluate student's performance and development
Assign and grade classwork, homework, and assessments
Maintain accurate and complete records of student's progress and development
Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
Work with administration to keep parents informed of students’ discipline
Maintain discipline following the rules and disciplinary systems of the school
Maintain clear, open, and professional communication with parents
Provide appropriate feedback to students and parents on student progress
Ability to employ computer programs to post grades and communicate with parent
Participate in department, school, and parent meetings
Basic Requirements:
Be a born-again Christian who is called of God to the teaching ministry
College graduate, preferably with two or more years of classroom teaching experience
Proficiency in delivery and execution of vocal instruction
Knowledge of computer technology
Willingness to pursue higher education and continue progress in career development
