Vice President, Hardware Engineering

Working with the Chief Technology Officer, you will define and own the hardware strategy, develop and maintain the roadmap, drive innovation and guide the hardware engineering team to delivery industry leading products! Working closely with teams inside and outside of the technology organization and establish our vision for our current and future video telematics products that set the bar to which others in the industry aspire. This role requires deep understanding of electrical, mechanical and RF technologies. In this position, you will establish strategic development partnerships with joint development and manufacturing companies, defining, managing, and optimizing the Engineering budget, and developing the Hardware Team to ensure high quality end products!

Specific Responsibilities Will Include

  • Lead the execution of global hardware initiatives and helping to craft and refine our long-term product and technology roadmap
  • Diving deep into sophisticated hardware challenges and providing technical mentorship and solutions
  • Driving strategic collaboration with teams across the organization, including software, product development, platform, user experience, machine learning, and quality
  • Coordinating all aspects of hardware engineering, including hardware development, testing and deployment
  • Evaluating and prioritizing initiatives and projects to ensure effective and timely delivery
  • Staying up-to-date on the latest trends, technologies and standard methodologies in hardware engineering and video telematics
  • Leading hardware engineering budget

Requirements

  • 15 plus years leading and running multidisciplinary hardware development teams in a fast-paced, impact drive environment
  • Extensive experience with wireless technology (Cellular, Wi-Fi, BT, etc.), digital, power, and RF hardware designs, and experience in video technology.
  • Knowledge of Automotive and ISO standards, experience in all phases of hardware development (concept, specification, development, qualification, and launch)
  • Experience with manufacturing and assembly processes is required.
  • Strong interpersonal leadership skills to influence multi-functional organizations
  • Critical thinking and innovative problem-solving skills and the ability to demonstrate effective conflict resolution.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in electrical engineering or a similar subject area/equivalent experience.

Salary is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is also eligible for an incentive compensation plan. The expected hiring salary for this position is:

$230,000.00 - $290,000.00
