Sr IT Project Manager

Our client is looking for a Program/Project Manager with 3-5 years of experience to perform project management oversight over Student Information Systems projects and workstreams. This position is hybrid one year contract with several days per week onsite.

High-level Description

Lead all phases of complex information technology projects designed as solutions with university-wide impact, and that require high levels of functional integration and involving multiple disciplines to be managed. Perform the full range of the project management lifecycle: discovery initiating, planning, budgeting, executing, governance, monitoring and controlling, and closing. Develop detailed plans, schedule, project estimate, and resource plan. Ensure adherence to quality standards. Manage the integration of vendor tasks and track and review vendor deliverables. Provide technical and analytical guidance to project team. Recommend and take action to direct the analysis and solution of problems; revise, as appropriate, to meet changing needs and requirements. Evaluate and assess metrics and project effectiveness. Ensure accurate and timely reporting; prepare specialized and ad hoc reports. Absorb and leverage project related technology to ensure effective project management and collaboration. Leverage steering and executive committees for decision-making, change management, and communications. Advise unit/school regarding post project operations. Provide training to clients/staff. Responsibilities

  • Role will lead the Student Information System program.
  • Complex stakeholder management
  • Multiple vendor management
  • Work closely and serve as point of contact with various user communities, fellow team members, technical teams, and vendors.
  • Manage the integration of vendor tasks, and track and review vendor deliverables.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting: defines agenda, coordinates preparation of content and leverages steering and executive committees for decision-making, change management, and communications.
  • Provide training and plans to clients/staff as appropriate.
  • Ensure work completion within schedule, budgetary and design constraints.

Basic Qualifications

  • College graduate
  • Role requires experience with Student Information System (SIS) implementation and/or modernization. Similar experience with ERM or critical core business system transformations is acceptable.
  • Additional requirement to work onsite at the HBS Campus in Allston, MA on a weekly basis, up to 3-4 days per week, as needed for connecting with stakeholders.

Please note this is a full-time (40 hours a week), contract position.
