Senior Accounts Payable and Treasury Manager

Summary

As the Senior Accounts Payable and Treasury Manager, you will lead critical expense/treasury cycle activities, oversee vendor payments, and manage treasury administration functions. Your leadership will drive performance and ensure operational excellence within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Expense/Treasury Cycle Oversight: Direct and perform month-end close activities, manage security deposit refunds, and oversee ACH transactions with precision and timeliness.
  • Vendor Payment Management: Own the vendor payment cycle by monitoring invoice flow, addressing aged invoices, and resolving vendor inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Treasury Administration: Execute critical treasury functions, including Sales & Use Tax compliance, 1099 reporting, escheatment processes, and approvals for gift cards, corporate credit cards, and wire/ACH transactions.
  • Team Leadership: Actively supervise and motivate a small team responsible for payable and treasury functions, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and timely completion of deliverables.
  • Support and Collaboration: Assist the Manager in recurring functions while participating in cross-functional projects, such as portfolio onboarding/offboarding, system upgrades, and process enhancements with business partners.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with internal business partners and external providers to automate business processes, define workflow roles, and respond to audit requests effectively.
  • Training and Development: Cross-train team members to optimize system functionality and leverage documented SOPs, fostering continuous learning and skill development.

Qualifications

  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in multifamily residential industry financial operations, with a focus on Accounts Payable and Treasury Administration.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated supervisory ability with a track record of developing and strengthening team performance.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of financial operations software such as MRI, Yardi, Workday, and Nexus accounting systems.
  • Relationship Building: Skilled in building rapport and cultivating strong relationships with vendors, internal stakeholders, and team members to achieve shared goals.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel (including complex data analysis), Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical skills to collect and utilize information effectively in solving complex problems.
  • Innovative Approach: Ability to leverage technology and streamline processes creatively to optimize team productivity and add value.
  • Time Management and Organizational Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
