What will you be doing?

We are currently looking for a reporter to join our global editorial team covering the emerging market for hydrogen and related future fuels.

This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical, inquisitive, numerate and literate individual to develop coverage in an emerging but potentially massive new low-carbon energy market. The focus will be on the low-carbon hydrogen sector’s development across North America.

You will have a passion for understanding how complex systems work and will relish the prospect of developing your skills in a role that melds data-driven analysis with traditional relationship-based reporting.

Your role will include engaging with industry participants, policymakers and investors, reporting and writing news and analysis, and helping support Argus’ development of its hydrogen and future fuel pricing. The environment is fast paced but values careful thought. You will enjoy collaborative work with colleagues from a range of backgrounds, many located in Argus’ other offices around the globe.

There are opportunities to travel and attend industry events, and to develop networks/specific market knowledge, as well as to present at industry conferences and lead webinar sessions.

The role would be ideally suited to a dynamic and curious self-starter with an interest in the energy transition, and who enjoys cultivating sources as well as reporting and writing news and analysis.

What we’re looking for in you:

  • The legal authorization to work in the US for any US employer.
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, economics, business or related field.
  • A commitment to the highest level of accuracy and the ability to complete all writing assignments within established deadlines.
  • Knowledge of energy and environmental issues; experience covering energy markets preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • The willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time to fulfil the responsibilities of this position.

What’s in it for you:

  • Competitive salary with bonus
  • Hybrid work model
  • Group medical, dental and vision plans
  • Company paid short term and long term disability and life insurance plan
  • Group 401(k) safe harbor retirement plan with a 6% company match
  • 20 vacation days your first year, which increases up to 30 days
  • Subsidized gym membership
  • Extensive internal and external training
