Experience, Education And Skills
Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in electrical engineering; or three or more years' successful sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
2 years' experience within industrial outside sales
Experience selling industrial automation components and solutions is strongly preferred
A Valid Driver's License in good standing is required
Occasional out-of-town travel required
Travel may include overnight stays, weekend assignments, and international opportunities
Strong business, creative, and technical writing skills
Proficiency in MS office skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
Effective interpersonal, organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and accuracy, and ability to multitask
Essential Functions
Identify new sales opportunities and follow up on new leads
Maintain detailed information on projects, quotes, samples and any other sales related information.
Develop and maintain relationships with Customer at multiple levels, including engineering, purchasing, quality and senior management
Attends and conducts business at trade shows
Sustain long-term relationships with key individuals in key accounts
Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources
Works with the Inside Sales Team Customer Service Representatives to facilitate customer requirements
Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries
