About The Role

We are looking to add a Electrical Superintendent to our growing Electrical Team. As an Electrical Superintendent, you will be responsible for assisting and overseeing and coordinating the work of electricians and other workers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems. This position will be on-site at our Corsicana location.

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for electrical systems and equipment.
  • Supervise and lead a team of electrical maintenance technicians and engineers.
  • Diagnose electrical issues and provide effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure all electrical systems and equipment comply with industry standards and regulations.
  • Coordinate with other departments to schedule maintenance activities and minimize disruptions.
  • Manage maintenance budgets and control costs while ensuring high-quality work.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the team.
  • Oversee Electrical Projects: Manage and supervise electrical projects from conception to completion, ensuring work is performed in accordance with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
  • Plan and Schedule Work: Develop project plans, timelines, and schedules in coordination with other trades, managing manpower to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Ensure Safety Compliance: Enforce strict safety protocols and procedures among electrical staff to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant safety standards.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and inspect electrical work to ensure quality and compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and Problem Solve: Diagnose complex electrical problems and provide or oversee solutions, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to operations.
  • Manage Team: Hire, train, and mentor electricians and other staff, fostering a team environment and ensuring staff are up-to-date with the latest electrical codes, technology, and safety practices.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the procurement of materials and equipment, manage project budgets, and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
  • Liaise with Stakeholders: Communicate effectively with project managers, contractors, engineers, and clients to provide updates, resolve issues, and ensure project objectives are met.
  • Maintain Records and Documentation: Keep detailed records of electrical installations, maintenance, inspections, and repairs, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date for compliance and auditing purposes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed of advancements in electrical technology and methods, implementing improvements in work practices and procedures to enhance efficiency and safety.
  • Emergency Response: Coordinate and respond to electrical emergencies, providing guidance and direction to ensure swift resolution of issues with minimal impact.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair of residential, commercial, and industrial electrical infrastructures.
  • Master or Journeyman Electrician with current updated license.
  • Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal safety regulations and electrical codes, including OSHA standards and NEC (National Electrical Code).
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate, manage, and lead a team of electricians and workers, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Proficiency in planning, scheduling, and executing electrical projects, including resource allocation, budgeting, and timeline management.
  • Ability to quickly diagnose and solve complex electrical issues, making informed decisions under pressure.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical equipment and tools, including testing devices, and an understanding of blueprints and electrical schematics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective coordination with team members, other trades, contractors, and clients.
  • Keen attention to detail to ensure all electrical work meets quality standards and complies with safety codes and regulations.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements, work environments, and emerging electrical technologies and methods.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest electrical technologies, codes, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment techniques to identify potential hazards and implement preventative measures.
  • Ability to manage client expectations, resolve complaints, and ensure customer satisfaction with electrical services

Education And Experience

  • Active Journeyman or Master Electrician
  • Extensive experience working as a journeyman electrician, typically ranging from 5 to 10 years, is essential to gain practical, hands-on expertise in electrical installations, troubleshooting, and repairs
  • Certifications such as Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional (CESCP), Project Management Professional (PMP), or other relevant credentials can enhance an applicant's qualifications.
  • Proficiency in using project management software, and basic office applications, and understanding of CAD software for electrical design.
  • Advanced math skills are desired.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
