Summary Of Position
The Director of Refrigeration supporting our Architecture and Engineering business unit, you will develop and oversee a design team managing all refrigeration aspects of projects from conception to completion. This includes manage client services, sales forecasting, financial management, and operational management. This position will act as our internal refrigeration subject matter expect and collaborate with internal colleagues to pitch and develop top-tier designs for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments on a variety of grocery, cold storage and distribution projects. As part of a multi-disciplined firm, the Director of Refrigeration will coordinate with Site/Civil Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Structural Engineers, Architects, and Construction Project Managers.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with market growth team to evaluate and conduct initial program and project investigation on new business opportunities.
- Drive collaboration between the refrigeration discipline and other internal disciplines, foster growth, and create sustainable and efficient synergies within internal teams.
- Develop recommendations, strategies, and executable refrigeration discipline deliverables that will meet or exceed Company and client expectations.
- Assist in coordinating the work of a multi-disciplined team throughout the design development and contract document phases of a project.
- Build, develop, and lead a team of refrigeration designers and engineers.
- Schedule and manage project phases and tasks, ensuring project milestones and objectives are met or exceeded.
- Prepare and negotiate proposals and contracts with clients and sub‐consultants.
- Conduct site visit investigations and generate reports and recommendations based on findings.
- Act as the main client point of contact and coordinate with sub-consultants as appropriate.
- Establish and maintain financial and operational management, including phase and task level budgets
- Create and utilize analytics to drive data‐driven decisions; recommend and implement solutions that drive improved processes and performance.
- Document best practice processes, protocols and/or training guides, leveraging the expertise of cross‐departmental experts, to ensure operational infrastructure remains consistent.
- Coordinate and assist with addendums, RFIs, and change orders.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering-related degree from an ABET accredited program.
- P.E. preferred
- 8 years of engineering experience in the design of refrigeration systems, preferably with commercial projects such as grocery retail
- Strong working knowledge of applicable codes, guidelines, and standards.
- Ability to organize and maintain project files.
- Ability to maintain documentation for billable hours.
- Demonstrated understanding of liability issues related to design.
- Demonstrated understanding of constructability and complex design.
- Demonstrated capability in negotiating cost-effective outcomes.
- Proficient project management skills with the ability to track multiple projects.
You will work with a team of Engineers Architects and Construction Project Managers.
