Under close to limited supervision of the Insurance Supervisor and/or Lead Investigator, this entry level position is responsible for the review of insurance licensing applications and disclosures , including regulatory understanding and interpretation, and the ability to answer all questions related to the process and reporting requirements. This position will focus on learning the license application process and disclosures and all applicable statues, administrative codes, procedures, and policies of the Agent Licensing Section. This position reviews, prepares, and collects documentation relating to background investigations, current criminal activity, and other documentation related to insurance licensing under close review of the Insurance Supervisor and/or Lead Investigator. This position will consult with the Insurance Supervisor, Lead Investigator, Licensing Investigators, and OCI Legal when needed. This position will also have daily interactions with the general public, insurance agents, and insurance companies among others. The position will learn processes, procedures, and related statues in order to provide comprehensive information and/or instruction.

This License Permit Program Associate (Agent Licensing Specialist) position is assigned to pay schedule/range 02-11. Pay for this position will be $21.66 per hour. A 12-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.

Due to the nature of the position, OCI will conduct background checks on applicants prior to selection. OCI does not sponsor visas and is not an eligible OPT employer for those with F1 visas. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form upon hire.

This position has potential for remote work after an initial training period has been completed. This topic and any remote work flexibility that may be available will be discussed in more detail in the interview process.

Qualified candidates will have experience related to all the following:

  • Research and analysis of complex data using analytical skills and forming objective conclusions based on a variety of data such as referencing process, law, or legal documents
  • Providing technical information (verbal or written) to a variety of stakeholders including customers, co-workers, and management in a timely, detailed, professional and accurate manner
