The Advisor, Total Rewards (Pension & Savings) is the company-recognized expert and consultant for the strategy, design, and compliance of the Pension and Savings plans of Phillips 66. The successful candidate will lead the design and delivery of competitive, valued, and cost-efficient Pension and Savings plans primarily for U.S. based employees. Responsibilities include working with internal and external partners to benchmark, design and successfully implement changes to existing plans, leading interdisciplinary project teams, and forming a comprehensive multi-year strategy for assigned plans. These efforts encompass the evaluation, planning, corporate approvals, communications, vendor management, post-implementation audits, financial forecasting, plan audits, etc. but not ongoing administration. The Advisor, Total Rewards represents the Company both internally and externally in related benefit matters.
Responsibilities May Include
Analyzing, benchmarking, and evaluating existing plans
Developing unique recommendations and solutions to complex issues for review by senior management
Facilitating input from various stakeholders on the value, design and effectiveness of plans, including recommendations for labor contract negotiations
Coordinating the selection, management and performance review of external consultants, brokers, trustees, vendors, etc
Ensuring compliance with all applicable legal requirements and managing plan audits, both internal and external. Includes 10-Q, 10-K, 11-K, 5500, PBGC, SOX, Annual Funding Notice, Summary Annual Report, Nondiscrimination Testing, etc
Collaborating with legal and tax to track and understand new legislation and regulations to ensure plan compliance
Developing a strategic vision including short- and long-range plans
Managing the communications, training and guidance on plan compliance requirements for administration
Monitoring, forecasting and trend analysis of benefit costs including collaboration with internal stakeholders (Treasury, Policy, Legal, HR Operations)
Serving as an expert advisor to resolve formal claims, lawsuits or agency interventions
Supporting the Plan Administrator and Benefits Committee
Supporting Executive Compensation in the preparation of the annual proxy relating to Pension and Savings plan benefits
Conducting due diligence regarding M&A activities
Managing the design and delivery of Health & Welfare and Retirement benefits in Canada
Managing the design and delivery of Severance benefits in the U.S
Required Qualifications
Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
Bachelors Degree
7 or more years of experience in Benefits, benefits consulting, or Human Resources
Preferred Qualifications
Accounting, Business, Finance, or Human Resources degree emphasis
CEBS, CPA, PHR / SPHR, or other Human Resources, Benefits, or Finance/Accounting certifications
Masters Degree (MBA, JD, etc.)
