Development Team Lead

As our student numbers increase and we continue to diversify our programmes and portfolio, we are looking to recruit a Development Team Lead to join us on a permanent basis. Working remotely (from within the UK), you will be responsible for the technical leadership of a team of Software Developers including; providing guidance, mentoring and overseeing the team’s technical performance.

The role will be expected to have in-depth technical knowledge of C# programming language and related technologies. You will work closely with our Software Architects, business analysts, testers and stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination throughout the software development lifecycle.

As a Development Team Lead at The University of Law, you will:

  • Ensure the quality and stability of software applications developed by the team
  • Identify areas of improvement in the software development process and implement best practices to enhance team productivity, efficiency and software quality
  • Provide effective leadership and management to a team of software developers
  • Ensure software applications that support the University’s administrative and teaching processes are effectively developed, deployed, operated, supported and maintained
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including coding standards and development guidelines
  • Review of project and process documentation to ensure good quality solutions are defined and meet business requirements.

We are looking for individuals with:

  • Proficiency in C# .NET framework developing web applications using MVC5
  • Experienced in managing and mentoring a technical team
  • Experience of defining and implementing software development methodologies, processes and standards
  • Experience of the full software development and project lifecycle
  • Developing and utilising RESTful and RESTless APIs
