Senior Mechanical Designer/Drafter

Summary:  This position involves multi-departmental collaboration through which you’ll be working on product life cycle support of new and existing products.  You’ll be responsible for maintaining and managing the document control process through Solidworks PDM.  Exceptional problem solving skills, strong mechanical aptitude, and high attention to detail are required. This is a dynamic and exciting role within a growing small company environment.  This position is based in Golden, Colorado, USA but will consider a remote position for the right candidate.

Job Duties Include:

• Drawing/Document Control (80 - 90% time allocation)
• Create and maintain SolidWorks models and mechanical drawing packages for new and existing products.
• Maintain all model, document, and drawing changes for the product development team through SolidWorks product data management (PDM) software.  
• Administration of the product data management (PDM) software.
• Maintain and manage the part number and UPC log.
• Product Sustaining (10 - 20% time allocation)
• Provide technical product support to customers, sales, and manufacturing.
• Support with creation of technical documentation.
• Identify, review, assess, and provide resolution to non-conformances of existing products.
• Assess and provide resolutions for improvements to existing products.
• Communicate with our manufacturing partners.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor (0 - 10%)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 7 years preferred mechanical design experience.
• Expertise with 3D Modeling CAD software Solidworks is required.
• Administration and use of Product Data Management software Solidworks PDM is required.
• High attention to detail in both product design and documentation.
• Experience with injection molded plastics, machined, cast, extruded, forged, and sheet metal parts.
• Experience with fabrication and assembly methods that would allow designs to be optimized for manufacturing.
• Self starter with the ability to work both autonomously as well as in a team environment.
• Requires strong mechanical and technical experience.
• Preferred experience with Google G Suite, Microsoft suite, Adobe, Slack, and Shortcut.
• Domestic travel and international travel with a valid passport is required as needed.
• Ability to efficiently contribute to the activities of internal and external departments.  
• Possesses strong problem solving, organizational, and creative thinking skills.

Job Type:  Full-time

Pay:  $80,000 - $105,000 per year depending on experience
