Payroll Tax Specialist -- Remote | WFH

This is a fixed-term position with a targeted end date of January 31, 2025 and can be performed remotely from any of the following states: CA, CO, MI, MN, MO, NH, NV, NY, OH, PA, UT, VT, WA, WI, WY.

We're seeking a Payroll Tax Specialist to join our team. In collaboration with our Payroll Team, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal payroll tax regulations. If you're detail-oriented and ready to contribute to our mission, we invite you to apply.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file local, state, and federal tax returns on a bi‐weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Remit payroll tax payments to tax authorities according to deadlines.
  • Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal payroll laws and regulations.
  • Reconcile and balance payroll tax accounts accurately.
  • Record tax-related entries in the general ledger.
  • Address inquiries from regulatory agencies and respond to tax-related questions promptly.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma required.
  • 2‐4 years of experience in multi-state payroll processing.
  • Proficiency in preparing and filing payroll tax returns.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and build strong relationships across teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
