Position Summary

The Patent Paralegal is a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual who can assist patent attorneys through all phases of the patent lifecycle.

Location

North Salt Lake, UT – Hybrid position

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and filing of patent formalities
• Interact with US and foreign attorneys and patent offices on clients’ behalf.
• Assist the Docketing Manager in gathering references and filing information disclosure statements with the USPTO
• Coordinate intake and opening of new patent prosecution matters
• Review and report correspondence received from (U.S. and foreign) patent office(s)
• Other duties as assigned
  
  

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• In-depth knowledge of patent filing and prosecution practices in the USPTO, PCT, and other major jurisdictions world-wide
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
• Ability to take direction and work independently with little or no supervision
• Ability to keep and maintain confidential information regarding clients and firm issues
• Aptitude to learn and quickly grasp firm specific software
  
  

Qualifications

• 3 years experience working as a patent paralegal / legal assistant
• Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate preferred
  
  

Anticipated Pay

$50,000 - $80,000 annually, adjustable based on experience
