GreenMet is hiring a Government Affairs Manager – Executive Branch to be a part of its growing advocacy team.

Job Summary  

The Government Affairs Manager – Executive Branch performs an external facing role primarily with the Executive branch, including but not limited to: White House Executive Office of the President, Department of Defense, Department of Energy, Department of State, Department of Interior, and Department of Commerce; and Legislative branch as needed as defined in the Strategic plan for GreenMet and any clients it supports. This position will report directly to the Chief Government and External Affairs Officer. Key audiences will include policymakers and government officials, with a strong focus on the Executive branch. This is a full-time position endeavoring to promote the company as an industry thought leader and key resource within Federal, regional and state policy as it pertains to ensuring a reliable and sustainable critical mineral supply chain in the United States. A successful candidate will be working to increase the company profile while also helping to champion and support efforts on key issues facing the critical minerals supply chain industry domestically.  

 

Job Responsibilities  

  • Act as a key external representative for the company before stakeholders in the Executive and Legislative branch.  
  • Support development and execution of a government affairs strategy that supports the policy interests of the company and its clients.  
  • Schedule and attend meetings with key stakeholders in the Executive and Legislative branches on behalf of GreenMet. 
  • Attend in person policy events, hearings, and conferences in support of GreenMet’s legislative and executive branches portfolio.  
  • Track and summarize key executive branch actions on critical mineral supply chain and end products.  
  • Draft public comments for executive actions. 
  • Monitor and research federal funding programs and grants.  
  • Stay informed on changes in the policy and regulatory environment for areas of company concern, including daily review of Federal Register and Congressional Record.  
  • Track and summarize any legislative action on issues related to critical mineral supply chain. 
  • Draft testimony, questions for the record and other policy documents. 
  • Develop advocacy materials including handouts, memos, talking points, and letters, etc., in support of strategic vision.  

 

Requirements/Desired Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in a related discipline)  
  • 2-5 years of related work experience, ideally some experience in the Executive branch or Hill experience.  
  • Passion and belief in our mission of building a sustainable, responsible, and economical green energy supply chain.  
  • A strong interest in advocacy and policy development and working knowledge of processes that bring about legislation and policy.  
  • A self-starter comfortable with near-term leadership and growth opportunities  
  • Strong research, writing, and communications skills, and substantive experience utilizing all of these in internal and external environments.  
  • Diplomatic and comfortable interacting in politically sensitive environments.  
  • Experience and comfort with speaking to policy leaders, decision-makers, and senior staff.  
  • Familiarity and/or demonstrated interest in rare earths, critical minerals, and supply chains strongly desired.  
  • Confident to work independently as well as part of a team, often under tight deadlines and across multiple projects at once.  
  • Proficiency with full applications of Microsoft Office 365 Suite.  
  • Interest and experience working with people from all backgrounds and abilities with an emphasis on diversity and inclusion.
