Assistant Quality Assurance Manager

Quality Manager is responsible for policy, strategy, and testing methodology to meet regulatory authority compliance in regard to our products. They will assist in setting quality standards and ensure that production is maintained at such high-level standards.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the Plant Laboratory, ensuring analytical expertise and equipment efficiency
• Develop and implement Quality Procedures, Standards and Testing Protocol
• Manages and enforces compliance to USDA / FDA Regulations, GMP, HACCP, Food Safety
• Oversee GFSI, Organic and Product Certifications
• Ensure Internal and External Audit
• Support all functions within the Plant and give support to relevant projects (new products, new equipment, process manufacturing changes)
• Ensure quality validation of processes and equipment
• Supervise Supplier’s Quality and inspections.
• Assess testing results and KPIs.
• Ensures the completion of trend analysis and annual charting of customer complaints.
• Conducts facility risk assessments annually and manages the monthly internal audits, as needed.
• Analyze complaints and non-conformances for Continuous Quality Improvement
• Manage, train, and lead the Quality Team
• Manage the budget of the Department in line with the guidelines.

Requirements:

• Advanced Technical Scientific Degree Preferred (MS Ph.D.).
• Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in Quality Management in food companies, preferred experience in the chilled category.
• Knowledge of FDA and USDA regulation /comfortable with regulatory interpretation required.
• PCQI FDA Certification strongly preferred.
• Detailed knowledge and track record of successful implementation of food manufacturing policies and procedures (GMP)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety on internal / external stakeholders
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence key decision-makers decision makers at all levels
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Laser focus on execution (end to end) applying relentless rigor
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Fluent in Italian and English required.
