Assistant Operations Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an Assistant Operations Manager to become an integral part of our Crossroads Courier team! You will coordinate and oversee the St. Louis Ground Business Unit's daily operations. #ZR

Pay:

  • $65,000/year
  • Biweekly

General Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute the staff and driver schedule on a daily, weekly, monthly basis
  • Select, onboard, and follow up with drivers' routes
  • Meet/exceed KPI's for cost control, growth, courier and staff performance
  • Assess Operations team and provide plans to address training needs
  • Route tracking
  • Maintain route detail documentation
  • Responsive to driver issues within 1 business day
  • Responsive to customer issues
  • Participate in weekend on call management rotation

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Quarterly one on one meetings with the Operations team and others as assigned
  • Assist with annual performance reviews for Operations team and others as assigned
  • Maintain job descriptions for Operations team
  • Prepare agenda for weekly Operations Meeting
  • Ensure Operations team is completing all assigned duties
  • Complete weekly administrative settlement items
  • Contribute to new business implementation
  • Help manage special projects
  • Oversee everyday schedule coverage
  • Oversee shift change and provide feedback to improve inter-shift communication
  • Participate in recurring conference calls with high profile customers
  • Complete daily manager checklist

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of management experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all people (line-staff to CEO)
  • Capacity to make decisions in a high stress environment
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands and adjust as the day unfolds
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Available to be on call afterhours and weekends
  • May be needed to work 2nd shift and weekends
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
