Due to an expansion of our services, we are looking for a Specialist Nurse in Haematology/Oncology to join us!

You will be working within a small but agile team, led by an Advanced Clinical Practitioner and Clinical Nurses Specialists – covering both inpatient and outpatient care at both POSCU and tertiary levels, you must be someone up for the challenge and able to work autonomously.

You will have ample opportunity to expand on your nursing skills and knowledge, become expert in treatment protocols, plan and oversee treatment pathways and be part of a specialist MDT. Most importantly you will be pivotal in providing supportive care to children, young people and their families through their journey.

  • To act as the key worker providing information, clinical advice and support to children and families with haematological and oncological diagnoses (this includes both malignant and non-malignant conditions) and as a resource to other professionals involved in that child or young person’s care.
  • To participate in the clinical preparation and support of children and families with haematological and oncological conditions from diagnosis through to treatment, including discharge planning and follow up care.
  • To act as a resource to families during the treatment period and help facilitate. continuity of care between inpatient and outpatient services.
  • To liaise with outpatients, funding bodies and referrals team.
  • Regular clinical day shifts on the wards, 2 long days in a 4-weekly rota.
