About the role:

Medtronic Labs is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join their dynamic team.

As a Data Scientist, you will have the opportunity to apply your expertise in machine learning, data science, and statistical analysis to tackle complex challenges in healthcare. You will play a pivotal role in advancing the organization's capabilities by researching, designing, and implementing cutting-edge algorithms and models. From regression analysis to deep learning, you will work with diverse datasets to extract actionable insights and develop data-driven solutions.

What you’ll get to do

• Collaborate with the team to enhance their understanding of healthcare data. Detect trends, patterns, and actionable insights within complex datasets, enabling well-informed decision-making.
• Implement advanced modeling techniques, encompassing machine learning, deep learning, time series analysis, and more.
• Follow coding standards and best practices within the data science team. With a strong emphasis on readability, scalability, and reproducibility.
• Forge close collaborations with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for data-driven enhancements and translate data insights into actionable recommendations.
• Stay up to date on the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and healthcare analytics.

To succeed in this role, you should have

• Proven experience in machine learning, data science, and statistical analysis through professional projects or academic research.
• Strong understanding of statistical concepts including regression, decision trees, and deep learning.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement algorithms and models for regression analysis, logistic regression, survival analysis, and propensity score matching.
• Proficiency in Python and R programming languages for data analysis and modeling.
• Proficiency in SQL and other query languages to extract, transform, and analyze data.
• Familiarity with machine learning libraries and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Nice to have:

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Demonstrated contributions to the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning, including publications, projects, or open-source contributions.
• Previous experience in healthcare and healthcare data is a plus.

Travel: Up to 10%, including international

Education: Bachelors or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Management, Business Analytics, Statistics, or related field. Concentration in data analytics or data science.
