Job Description: As the Supply Chain Director, you will oversee and manage the entire supply chain process for our e-commerce business, encompassing logistics, distribution, purchasing and procurement, manufacturing, marketing integration, and inventory management. Your role is crucial in advancing production goals, addressing business challenges, and ensuring seamless and efficient supply chain operations. You will lead the supply chain team with a strategic vision and strong leadership, driving continuous improvement and innovation. This position demands a strong analytical thinker and problem solver with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. You must be adaptable to a fast-paced environment, with an eye for detail and a deep understanding of inventory control, transportation, and comprehensive supply chain knowledge, tailored specifically to the demands of e-commerce
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with business objectives
Lead the Supply Chain Team in achieving operational excellence and driving continuous improvement
Establish and monitor departmental OKRs and metrics to assess supply chain performance
Logistics & Distribution:
Oversee logistics and distribution operations to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products
Optimize transportation routes and manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and transportation carriers
Coordinate with warehouse teams to streamline operations and reduce handling times
Purchasing & Procurement:
Direct procurement to source materials and services at competitive prices, prioritizing domestic suppliers when possible
Develop and maintain supplier relationships, negotiating contracts to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness
Implement procurement policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency
Manufacturing Coordination:
Collaborate with manufacturing to align production schedules with supply chain capabilities
Ensure efficient production workflows and inventory management to meet customer demands
Monitor production processes to identify and resolve bottlenecks
Marketing Collaboration:
Work closely with the Director of Marketing to review demand changes to ensure supply for promotional activities
Align supply chain operations with marketing strategies to ensure product availability
Inventory Management:
Implement inventory control measures to minimize costs and prevent shortages or excesses
Manage regular audits to ensure inventory accuracy
Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies
Manage risks associated with supply chain operations and develop contingency plans
Supervise regular reviews and audits to maintain compliance standards
Customer Experience:
Collaborate with the Customer Experience Manager to address and resolve supply chain-related issues
Maintain high customer satisfaction through reliable and efficient supply chain operations
ERP System Management:
Ensure accurate data entry and reporting to support decision-making
Train staff on ERP system usage for Supply Chain Functions such as procurement, inventory management, and logistics and implement best practices
Forecasting:
Utilize forecasting techniques to predict future demand and adjust supply chain operations accordingly
Develop and maintain accurate demand planning models
Analyze historical data and market trends to refine forecasting methods
Qualifications & Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred) or equivalent of 10 years of relevant experience
Experience in supply chain management, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role
Strong knowledge of logistics, distribution, procurement, and inventory management
Proficiency in ERP systems and supply chain software
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team
Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements
Innovative mindset with a focus on process improvement and operational efficiency
Proficiency in Monday.com, Slack, Spreadsheets, Freight Forwarding Platforms and Google Suite
Ability to remain stationary in a sitting position for prolonged periods
Ability to work in front of a computer screen for several hours
Occasional travel required for team retreats and leadership summits
