Software Development Manager, Implementation

Do you have experience managing a team of software engineers working in software and system implementations? For this role, you will be managing a team of software developers and other development professionals working on software and system implementations for our clients. We have an individual who is retiring and we are hiring for a Software Engineering and Development Manager to lead a team of 7-8 individuals. For this role, you will be the primary owner of all aspects of software delivery, from insuring that requirements are clear to planning and monitoring data conversion. The development and delivery of new features, reports, and interfaces will be the responsibility of you and your team. You will need to "own" the project and drive implementation projects for our customers which, at times, can involve some travel to the client site. This travel is 20% or less. The developers on the team have a mix of technical skills including C , .Net, Java, SQL and other development technologies. We are looking for someone that is smart, resourceful and will do what it takes to get things done. This role has visibility and is one where your contributions will be noticed and rewarded. We'd say the role is part people manager, part technical lead, and part Project Manager. Experience with high transactional and high availability systems would be ideal.

For this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

• 10 years plus of software development related management experience
• 5 years plus senior programming experience, preferably in a large-scale transaction processing or other complex systems.
• Familiar with current software design methodology and architecture.
• Experienced with Industry Standard Source Control/Configuration tools
• Experience with Real-time server programming, high availability environment programming and User interface implementations is a plus.
• Ability to mentor, encourage and manage developers and engineers through stressful projects
• Knowledge of security concepts and industry standards
• Knowledge regarding many SDLC processes and methodologies
  
  

We are based in north Atlanta and the role would involve some hybrid work so you would need to come into the office as needed. In some cases, this may be 3-4 days in a week and in other cases, you may work remotely all week. We do want someone with a development and software engineering background that has come up through the ranks and has experience managing software engineers and managing development teams.
