Job Purpose

Canoo’s R3Pi Systems Engineering team is looking for an Associate Electronics Engineer who will rapidly define, design, integrate and validate LV electrical system with an emphasis on performance and safety. They will engage with cross-disciplinary staff to design innovative solutions for existing and future vehicle models. They will aid in integration and debugging of hardware issues.

Responsibilities (80s Of The Position)

  • Understand, interpret, and update vehicle wiring and logical diagrams.
  • Assemble, program and test electronics for new features
  • Documentation of design and change processes.
  • Hands on testing, installation and validation of prototype vehicle wire harnesses
  • Characterize power and I/O of devices
  • Create test cases to validate device integration

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or a related engineering field
  • Strong understanding of digital electronics, micro controllers, firmware and software
  • Understanding of computer programming languages (C/C , Python, etc.)
    • Hands on experience with circuit testing and troubleshooting
    • Experience with testing equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power meters, etc.)
    • Ability to communicate effectively with cross functional teams
Preferred Experience 

  • Excellent hardware and software debugging skills.
  • Understanding of CAN or other automotive communication protocols.
  • Strong electrical and embedded systems fundamentals.
  • Previous experience in debugging complex sub systems involving other electromechanical devices.

Travel Requirements

  • 25% Travel
