Mortgage Escrow Specialist - Remote | WFH

Overview

Manage timely disbursement of payments for real estate taxes, insurance premiums, condo fees, and other related expenses for escrowed accounts. Maintain direct communication with taxing authorities, insurance providers, homeowners associations, and borrowers to ensure exceptional customer service. Verify insurance coverage and tax information for non-escrowed accounts.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate with Core Logic to create/update tax records for new loans.
  • Ensure accurate real estate tax and mortgage insurance information on loan records.
  • Process escrow disbursements via ACH, wire, or check to municipalities and insurance companies.
  • Review and reconcile escrow reports for delinquent taxes and liens.
  • Follow up on outstanding items to ensure prompt resolution and avoid penalties.
  • Research and manage delinquent accounts, contacting customers and municipalities as needed.
  • Maintain Tax Watch Report for accounts with serious tax delinquency.
  • Manage loan record inactivation with Core Logic upon loan payoff.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide backup support for Servicing and Insurance Specialist role during absences.
  • Handle condo fee disbursements, addressing delinquency issues promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and bank policies.
  • Assist with Mortgage Discharges and Credit Reporting Function as needed.
  • Prepare payoff statements and provide customer assistance for servicing inquiries.
  • Review daily reports and file documents as required.

  • None

Work Environment

  • Typical office environment with occasional travel between main office and branches.
  • Flexible hours may be required occasionally to accommodate business needs.

Physical Demands

  • Regular use of hands and fingers, reaching, and ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
  • Vision abilities including close vision, color vision, and depth perception.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • High school diploma or equivalent; mortgage or banking experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with computers and office equipment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Commitment to following procedures and instructions.
