Cambrian College’s Liaison/Student Recruitment department requires a part-time Liaison Officer, on a (6) six month leave replacement basis, beginning July 2024. This position requires traveling/driving throughout Northern Ontario (vehicle provided) with overnight stays 17-30 weeks out of the year (Monday – Friday with some weekends). When not traveling, the role is required to be on-campus in Sudbury, Ontario.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide an active recruitment program through a wide range of communication and information activities. These may include Individual School Visits and Special Recruiting presentations to secondary schools, other educational institutions, and adult education centres/agencies, CIP (College Information Program), advising meetings, group and individual tours, webinar presentations, trade shows, educational and career fairs, parents/ information nights, Regional Dialogues, and Career-focused Presentations.
Prepare and execute an annual recruitment action plan for individual school visits (ISV), CIP and/or Special Recruiting.
Compile, record, and maintain statistical data and prospective student contact information for all activities and all job-related duties.
Liaise with the Manager, Student Recruitment and Liaison Officer team to obtain statistical data and information that supports the College’s overall enrolment targets, market analyses and strategic plan to plan and execute recruitment initiatives.
Actively conduct surveys with guidance counsellors, teachers, secondary schools, elementary school, other education institutes, colleges, other postsecondary institutes.
Assist with the planning, organization, and delivery of on-campus activities and events which may include but are not limited to: Webinars, Information Nights, Open Houses, Campus Tours, Orientation, Move-in Weekend Educators’ Forum, and partner agency (i.e. Skills Ontario) events and other events/activities organized by the Student Success and Recruitment Department.
Maintain communication and support recruitment department via platforms used by the team
Qualifications
Required:
Three-year postsecondary diploma or degree. (A copy of educational documents must be submitted with application *** education completed outside of Canada, applicants are required to submit a WES or ICAS with their application)
Three years of practical experience dealing with the public and youth aged 16 – 25 years old. Must have worked without direct supervision within an environment that required extensive problem solving and the ability to adapt easily to diverse situations.
Must have demonstrated exceptional public speaking skills, excellent research, communication, and analytical skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise tact and good judgment.
Collaborative professional who promotes teamwork and who works cohesively within a team-oriented environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
A valid Ontario driver’s license

Experience working within a postsecondary environment.
Strong knowledge of the Greater Sudbury area.
Strong knowledge of Cambrian College.
