Curriculum Developer

Job Location: Center for Services Support, Naval Station Newport, Newport, Rhode Island (THIS IS AN ON-SITE POSITION. Must be able to work on-site in Newport, RI)

Start Date: Contingent Upon Contract Award

Background: Vectrona requires a Curriculum Developer who will provide support services in the areas of Manpower, Personnel, Training, and Education and Instructional Systems Design to aid in the Ready Relevant Learning and Career-Long Learning Continuum development, update, and execution.

The Curriculum Developer will focus on the review of analysis, design and development documents and associated training materials of the US Fleet Forces Command Ready Relevant Learning Future Years Defense Program Requirements Plan and Naval Education and Training Command Fielding Plan for the Center for Service Support. The incumbent will accomplish analytical, programmatic, and developmental tasks which focus on, but not limited to analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum documents provided by Center for Service Support using Ready Relevant Learning, Naval Education Training Command and Center for Service Support policy and guidance. The team will provide support to training program managers, learning standards officers, training specialists, curriculum developers, product support providers.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with management to develop curricula, determining the scope and sequencing of highly technical training for staff at various expertise levels and the necessary knowledge to function successfully in broad categories.
• Develop course materials, including scripts, exercises, classroom or self-study manuals, and other teaching aids.
• Assess current and anticipated training needs.
• Review management, training and/or support materials, to include both classroom and online training materials, provided by Center for Services Support to ensure compliance with policy and guidance.
• Develop management, training and/or support materials in support of Ready Relevant Learning/Career Long Learning Curriculum objectives.
• Support preparation for and execution of development and implementation events, such as train the trainer and pilot classes for multiple courses of instruction.

Minimum Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree in education or employee development, or two (2) years of experience teaching relevant, related material.
• Ability to use the Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (required).
• Familiarity with:
• Professional support services in the areas of Manpower, Personnel, Training, and Education and Instructional Systems Design in support of Ready Relevant Learning development and execution, to include items identified in the Career-Long Learning Continuum line of effort.
• Center for Service Support Continuum Instructional Systems Design Support

Knowledge and Skills:

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor communications across all levels of stakeholders
• Must have excellent analytical, planning and coordination skills
• Able to prioritize work, and shift priorities as needed, to meet aggressive deadlines
