Credentialing Specialist/Administrative Assistant

Job Description

**Job Summary:**

The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for managing and overseeing the credentialing process for healthcare providers within our organization. This role ensures that all medical staff members are properly credentialed, in compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements, and maintain active privileges to provide care.

**Key Responsibilities:**

• **Credentialing Process Management:** Oversee the credentialing and re-credentialing processes for all healthcare providers, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• **Documentation and Verification:** Collect, review, and verify all required documentation, including education, training, licensure, certifications, malpractice history, and work experience.
• **Regulatory Compliance:** Ensure compliance with all relevant accrediting bodies, state and federal regulations, and internal policies and procedures.
• **Database Maintenance:** Maintain and update credentialing databases and files, ensuring all information is current and accurate.
• **Communication:** Liaise with healthcare providers, licensing boards, and regulatory agencies to resolve any credentialing issues or discrepancies.
• **Audits and Reporting:** Prepare and assist with internal and external audits. Generate reports on credentialing status, compliance, and any other relevant metrics.
• **Policy Development:** Assist in developing and updating credentialing policies and procedures to improve efficiency and compliance.
• **Skills:**
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
