Cashier/Prep Cook - Part Time 3:00pm to 8:00pm $16.00 p/hr.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

To receive and disburse money for payment of food purchased and prepare pantry items, grab-and-go items and salad bar items, as needed.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Greets employees/customers in a friendly and welcome manner.


• Enters purchases into cash register to calculate total purchase price.


• Accepts cash, checks, or bankcards for payment; completes check and bankcard transactions according to established procedure.


• Counts money, gives change and issues receipt for funds received.


• Maintains sufficient amounts of change in cash drawer.


• Balances cash drawer and receipts; documents discrepancies.


• Keeps register area neat and stocked with necessary supplies.


• Keeps retail area clean, orderly and presentable.


• Assists in training new cashiers, as directed.


• Assists in the kitchen and cafeteria with items such as clean-up, stocking, as needed.


• Performs other related tasks, as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Education equivalent to a High School diploma and 3 months of related experience.


• Current Food Handler's Permit.


• The ability to read, write and speak English, and perform basic arithmetic, typically acquired through a high school diploma.


• Ability to operate the cash register and credit card equipment.


• Ability to be self-motivated and do what needs to be done.


• Ability to work as a member of a team.
