Benefits Specialist

The Role

This Benefits role will be responsible for oversight of the FMC’s U.S., Canadian and Puerto Rico benefit plans administration. Ensures processes between FMC’s locations, vendors and payroll meet service delivery standards, internal operating procedures, and compliance with regulatory authorities while addressing all inquiries from managers and employees on programs in partnership with HR Business Partners and HR Operations.

Here’s What You’ll Do

  • Oversees the day-to-day activities for FMC's benefit plans. Identifies and resolves process deviations and ensures accuracy in data. Reviews and updates administrative specification documents as necessary.
  • Manages and resolves employee issues and vendor service escalations. Collects information, analyzes data, determines causes of issues, develops course of action, makes sound decisions and communicate facts and conclusions clearly and concisely.
  • Interfaces with multiple vendors to ensure proper communication, funding, reporting and compliance processes are maintained.
  • Oversees vendor interfaces for all benefit plans; can identify problems and their implications, works with vendors and HRIT to resolve identified items.
  • Manages the Annual Enrollment Process, including system updates, testing, and employee communications.
  • Completes compliance filings and audit processes includes partnering internally and with external vendors to complete compliance testing including nondiscrimination testing, ACA reporting, completion of 5500 filings.

Qualifications

Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience.
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in benefits administration.
  • Knowledge of ERISA, DOL and IRS regulations for retirement and H&W plans

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience with benefit plans outsourced to major providers (e.g. Fidelity, Aon, Aetna).
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to nuance communications for different audiences.
  • Experience partnering with HR business partners, COEs and/or third-party vendors supporting HR services to drive results.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proven experience with advanced level Excel and PowerPoint to influence decision-making and provide compelling story telling.
  • Experience with cutting-edge SAP SuccessFactors (or equivalent e.g., Workday). Experience with HR services enabling technologies such as ServiceNow is a plus.
