Software Developer in Test

8x8 is looking for a experienced Software Development Engineer in Test who is passionate about delivering quality through test automation for web applications and microservices, and cares deeply about bringing the most value to end users as quickly and safely as possible.

Responsibilities

• Detailed understanding of product and business knowledge
• Take part in all application development life cycle phases, according to the agreed test strategy
• Work closely with the Product Manager, Developers and QA in order to deliver the tasks in time and with the expected quality
• Active involvement in all SCRUM sessions while being part of a global team
• Maintain the relationships between cross-functional teams like configuration and operations management, development operations, program management, product managers
• Troubleshoot, analyze and isolate defects and report them to an issue and project tracking software (JIRA)
• Plan, write/refactor, execute and analyze results for manual tests
• Plan, write/refactor, execute and analyze results for automated tests while using the existing project's test frameworks at both APIs UI layers
• Perform code reviews and address code for review
• Analyze, propose and eventually implement/improve automation frameworks/solutions to facilitate an increased testing quality and efficiency
• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools, solutions and strategies
  
  

Qualifications

• Expert in Quality Assurance terms, standards, strategies and procedures
• Relevant experience in working in an Agile/Scrum development process as an Agile tester
• Very good skills in test design, test execution; test reporting for both manual & automation testing for web applications
• Advanced skills in writing clean reusable Java code (OOP, Design patterns)
• Solid experience in working with Java automation related frameworks and libraries like Selenium WebDriver, REST Assured, Cucumber, Junit/TestNG (or other)
• Good understand of RESTful Web Services
• Good understanding of CI/CD (Jenkins)
• Candidate should be: a team player, self-motivated, eager to learn, result oriented, able to work independently when needed, have a strong attention to detail and be able to think outside the box
