Safety Officer - Oil and Gas/Manufacturing Industry

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive safety programs and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with company safety policies, industry standards, and legal requirements.
• Provide ongoing safety training and education programs for employees and contractors to foster a culture of safety.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare detailed reports with recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
• Collaborate with management and various departments to integrate safety practices into daily operations and project planning.
• Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, audits, incidents, and training activities.
• Ensures all tools and equipment are maintained, regularly checked and recorded.
• Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety committees to address safety concerns and promote best practices.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to safety in the oil and gas and manufacturing sectors.
• Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and procedures.
• Promote continuous improvement in safety performance through the development of new initiatives and programs.
  
  

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree / PG Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science,

Degree/ Diploma Engineering, or a related technical field.

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Safety Officer in the oil and gas or manufacturing industry.

fair knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety regulations.

Professional certification in safety management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP) is desirable.
