Salary: $150,000 to $200,000 per year, with potential flexibility based on experience

Terrific Senior Director of Major Gifts position with a highly regarded medical school and hospital in New York City. The Senior Director of Major Gifts will be a strategic and hands-on fundraising role that will guide a team of fundraisers to ensure that goals are met. The Senior Director will manage the full lifecycle of fundraising for a donor portfolio, with a focus on those capable of giving at the $100k level. This position will also collaborate closely with colleagues on the creation and expansion of various fundraising programs, including grateful patient and alumni programs. The role will manage and mentor a team of four development professionals. Candidates should have excellent relationship building skills and experience securing large major gifts. Qualified candidates should have approximately 8 years of related development experience in a similar setting. Bachelor's degree is required. The salary range for this position is $150,000 to $200,000 per year, with potential flexibility based on experience. This position is based in New York City and operates on a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide moves management to a portfolio of major gifts donors (focus on $100k )
• Develop and implement a major gifts strategy
• Provide assistance in the development and expansion of a grateful patient program
• Create effective cultivation and solicitation strategies
• Manage strong relationships with potential major donors
• Collaborate throughout the organization to identify high-capacity donors
• Manage and mentor a team of four development professionals
  
  

Qualifications

• Approximately 8 years of relevant development experience, preferably in healthcare or academic medicine
• Bachelor's degree is required
• Supervisory experience required
• Demonstrated track record of closing 6 figure gifts
• Excellent relationship building skills and a strong understanding of moves management
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Experience with Raiser's Edge or similar database
• Experience building a donor portfolio is a plus
