School Food Service Director

As a Food Service Director you will manage all aspects of the food and nutrition department of a network of 30 Illinois and Arizona special education schools participating in the National School Lunch Program while working closely with the Chief Compliance Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Operating Officer. Responsibilities Manage all aspects of the food and nutrition department of a network of 30 Illinois and Arizona special education schools participating in the National School Lunch Program while working closely with the Chief Compliance Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Operating Officer. Conduct on-site reviews of operations and HACCP to ensure compliance of local, state and federal rules and regulations. Ensure that all locations are meeting safety and sanitation standards and meeting requirements of local health departments. Train food service staff and maintain a database of all food service certifications. Maintain a database of all food service employee annual training completions. Update guidance documents annually or as needed to ensure compliance of local, state, and federal regulations. Oversee vendor procurement procedures as required by the National School Lunch Program and manage contracts and vendor relationships with school breakfast and lunch vendors. Review and submit monthly claims for reimbursement for the National School Lunch Program. Monitor claims, income, and expenditures of the food service program to ensure that each program is operating a fiscally prudent manner. Submit annual applications for all schools for the National School Lunch Program and maintain all aspects of the online systems of Arizona and Illinois.. Oversee the CEP provision for new schools and renewals. Manage state audits of the Illinois State Board of Education and Arizona Department of Education. Attend seminars, conferences, workshops, and classes to enhance and maintain knowledge of trends and developments in the field of food services administration while also meeting the annual training requirements of Directors as required of School Nutrition Program Professionals. > Qualifications 5 Years Experience working with the National School Lunch Program in K-12 programs. Bachelor's degree in food service management, nutrition,business, or a related field. Knowledge of the nutritional and dietary needs of public school children. Knowledge of practices of food service administration. Willingness to travel to 26 locations throughout the state of Illinois and 4 locations in Arizona, at a minimum of two times per site per year.
