To assist the teacher in matters essential to the efficient and effective operation of the classroom.
Strategic Goal Area I –Student Achievement
Assist the teacher/supervisor in meeting and instructing assigned classes in the location and at times designated
Assist the teacher/supervisor in developing and in maintaining a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided by the district
Assist the teacher/supervisor in preparing for classes assigned
Assist the teacher/supervisor in using a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved
Strategic Goal Area II – Stakeholder Engagement and Loyalty
Communicate effectively with students, peers, administration, and teachers
Exhibit pleasant behavior and project a positive image when dealing with students, peers, administration, and teachers
Follow and enforce regulations concerning student conduct, discipline, and attendance
Assist the teacher in maintaining a positive learning environment 5. Assist the teacher in maximizing instructional time
Assist the teacher in helping students take responsibility for behavior and learning
Strategic Goal Area III – Efficient and Effective Operational Processes
Assist the teacher/supervisor in maintaining accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulations
Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations and school board policy
Strategic Goal Area IV – Continuous System and School Improvement
Attend and participate in faculty meetings and other necessary events if required by the supervising teacher or the principal
Provide for his/her own professional growth through the staff development program provided by the system or other approved agency
Perform such other tasks and assume other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time

Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance /timeliness
Complete assignments and requirements on time and in compliance with directions
Maintain accurate, complete, and appropriate records and file reports promptly 5. Maintain confidentiality of information and records for students and staff JOB STANDARDS (Minimum qualifications needed to perform essential job functions): 1. High School Diploma or GED
Possess and maintain a valid Paraprofessional Certificate issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC).
