American Association of Physicists in Medicine

Medical Physicist, Senior

Orlando Health Cancer Institute is seeking a strong clinical physicist to join our dynamic team of physicists that value on-site clinical coverage and patient care. Please don't apply unless you want to be part of a progressive clinic that has almost all the emerging technology and want to work alongside a great group of physicians and dosimetrists!

Applicants must have a minimum of a Masters degree and ABR certification, or a graduate of a CAMPEP-accredited Medical Physics Residency program working towards certification. ABR board-certified or board-eligible candidates are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate is expected to have good interpersonal skills, in addition to excellent written and oral communication.

Our department treats more than 200 patients per day, at 5 locations across the Orlando area. Our equipment includes 4 matched Varian TrueBeams, a Varian Edge, Varian IX, Varian Ethos, Elekta Synergy, ViewRay MRIdian, Mevion S250 proton therapy system, Nucletron HDR, 6 CT simulators, and soon-to-be-added equipment such as another Varian TrueBeam and a Bravos HDR unit. Treatment planning for all centers is performed using Full-Scale Eclipse/ARIA deployed through Citrix. This position will provide comprehensive clinical support at either the downtown photon/proton clinics or on-site support at any one of our regional care centers, depending on experience and applicant preference. Within our physicist group, we value a team-first attitude, collaboration with your colleagues, and enthusiasm for clinical medical physics. Physicists are expected to participate in our CAMPEP-accredited residency program and are also presented opportunities to participate in clinical research, though not required by any means. Our current medical physics team includes 9 photon-clinic physicists, 2 proton-clinic physicists, 2 therapy physics residents, 2 medical physics assistants, 3 IT/CE liaisons, and a medical physics research fellow. Our department is also seeing significant growth with multiple physical expansion opportunities occurring across the Central-Florida area. Again, we work alongside an excellent group of highly-engaged Radiation Oncologists (12) and certified Medical Dosimetrists (11), all of whom lean heavily on physicist involvement within our busy practice. Senior physicist's compensation includes an annual merit increases plus annual leader-incentive bonus ranging from 8-12%. Please feel free to contact me for more information on our open positions.
