Essential Position Results

  • The Director of Loss Prevention is responsible for the management of a security department.
  • The primary roll of the Director of Loss Prevention is to manage personnel, Secure the facility and conduct investigations into company theft and workers’ compensation claims.
  • The Director of Loss prevention includes the supervision of a Dispute resolution department and physical security, namely contract guards.
  • The Director of Loss Prevention will investigate sources of theft in a large warehouse facility and assist Human resources in termination of dishonest employees for theft.
  • The Director of Loss Prevention’s job will include:
  • Manage and maintain all loss prevention equipment that includes but not limited to CCTV systems, Access control and Fire and Burglar alarm systems.
  • Overseeing contract Security guards
  • Investigation of company losses pertaining to Theft and potential fraud investigations regarding Workmen’s compensation claims.
  • As part of the investigation component of the position, surveillance techniques may be utilized to aid in the investigation.
  • Maintain a working relationship with local law enforcement.
  • Be cognizant in the surrounding areas of our facilities to potential threats of theft and burglary.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manages members of the team in a work unit, department or functional area. Responsible for providing effective leadership while fostering a positive team environment; provides overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of organizational unit, department and/or functional area. Performs supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; recognizing, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Minimum Qualifications

Education, Certifications and /or licenses:

  • This position requires a 4-year college degree or the equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle preferred

Experience

  • 8 to 10 years experience with several years of management experience.

Knowledge/Skills

  • This position needs leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills as well being able to solve problems.
  • Must be a results oriented professional with excellent verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion as well as strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient PC skills using MS Office and other various computer programs including presentation software.

Compensation & Benefits

Empire Merchants offers a competitive compensation package including:

  • Salary Range: $100,000 - $110,000 plus annual bonus potential

While performing the duties of this job the associate is regularly exposed normal business office environment. The ability to share workspace, travel by car or train, dress in proper business attire, attend evening meetings and meet deadlines are all requirements of this position. Associate is often required to be in the market and may require exposure to inclement weather.
