Teaching Assistant (Female)

A 'GOOD' secondary school in South Bristol is seeking a Female Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a vulnerable Year 7 pupil who will be transitioning to the school in September 2024. The pupil has refugee status and requires support with personal care and accessing learning.

The Role

  • Provide individualised academic and social-emotional support.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning plans.
  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support the student in building trusting relationships within the school.
  • Provide personal care.
  • Monitor and record the student's progress and behaviour.

  • Rated 'GOOD' by OFSTED.

  • Offers regular training opportunities.
  • Provides career progression opportunities for the right candidate.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths.
  • Experience working with children or young people.
  • Knowledge of SEN/EAL strategies and support techniques.
  • Patient, resilient, and calm demeanour.
  • Long-term commitment to support pupil for entire academic year.
  • Experience across a range of key stages, including KS2 (desirable but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
