The Role

Flight Operations Policy & Delivery Manager

An exciting opportunity to join the fast paced world of Flight Operations leading a team of managers delivering policy and people management expertise to a diverse workforce with a keen focus on a safety first culture.

This is a 12 month fixed term contract.

What You’ll Do

  • Motivate and lead a team of c. 7 Fleet Managers, managing their performance to ensure flight crew are managed consistently and in accordance with employment and departmental policies, whilst ensuring they support Fleet Line Managers as directed.
  • Manage and lead the Flight Crew Attendance team, ensuring attendance, maternity, parental leave and absence policies are effectively administered and driving towards industry leading levels of attendance. Lead and develop the effective management of EG300 Section 5: Misconduct.
  • Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of flight crew pay related activities such as allowances, overtime spend and variable pay, working closely with the Fleet Business Manager.
  • Effective and consistent attendance management in accordance with EG300, including Section 4, Medical and Ill Health termination.
  • Use sound knowledge of industrial agreements to represent Flight Operations in resolving issues and consult and negotiate with Trade Union representatives at local IR level, including oversight of attendance at the Employment Policy Committee meetings (EPC).

  • Flexible approach/able to deal with multiple issues at one time, Innovative: lateral thinker
  • Strongly developed communications skills, verbal and written.

Your Experience

  • Experience of working in an unionised environment desirable
  • Leading and motivating teams whilst creating an inclusive and high performing culture.
  • Able to hold an Airside pass.
