The student will provide support for Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) and Ohio State Newark Campus students, faculty, and staff members requesting assistance through our inbound IT support channels [email protected] and 740-366-9244. As a member of the IT Service Desk and classroom support team, the Student provides professional, knowledgeable, and courteous support in classrooms and campus computer labs. Responsible for assisting faculty, staff, and students with classroom AV systems, including but not limited to LCD projectors, computing devices, integrated A/V Systems, video conferencing, video playback devices, document cameras, digital media support, and lecture capture tools. Additionally, they will troubleshoot problems with Desktop, laptop, and mobile computing environments, such as wireless setup. Install and maintain software. Performs daily maintenance of classrooms and labs, tracking classroom maintenance—monitoring and requesting lab supplies. Maintain printers and resolve printing issues. Serve as the technical and logistical support for several events, ranging from small meetings to award ceremonies, internal and external to campus, by helping set up and dismantle events efficiently through to completion.

  • Areas of support include gradual ramp-up of skills. Ranging from password assistance and multi-factor authentication up to general helpdesk support.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license and able to pass a background check
  • Ability to lift and move 50 pounds
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
  • Knowledge of desktop and laptop computing operating environments
  • Works well in a dynamic, fast-changing environment that requires a high degree of multi-tasking with minimal supervision
  • On-site work to be performed on the Newark campus

  • Familiarity with OTDI services helpful

Additional Information

The Targeted Hiring Range for this position is $12.00 per hour.
