Education and Experience:
Work is often performed outside under any type of weather conditions. Exposure to varying degrees/amounts of heat, cold, dust, dampness, ice, precipitation, and mud.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to: Climb and maintain balance on scaffolds and ladders; use arms and hands to reach for, handle and manipulate objects and materials; lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds repetitively to meet the physical demands of our industry. Stand or walk, stoop kneel crouch and crawl for long periods of time. Must have acceptable vision (either naturally or with correction)

Responsibilities
Duties:
- Erect structural and miscellaneous steel, columns, beams, bracing, joists and decking and other construction materials to stand buildings, and other steel structures.
- Fabricate, weld, and cut structural metal in fabrication shop.
- Erect steel frames, girts, purlins and other materials for a complete steel structure.
- Direct operation of cranes to move structural steel, and other materials onto and around the construction site.
- Connect steel columns, beams, girders, and joists.
- Drill holes into steel for bolts with mag drill or other equipment.
- Number steel according to field use erection drawings.
- Receive, check-in, unload, shakeout, and stack steel for efficient erection.
- Rigging of steel with straps, slings, and chokers for placement by crane, lull, or forklift.
- Work with drift pins to align the holes for steel connections.
- Use plumb bob, levels, and laser equipment to check alignment.
- Bolt or weld steel into place.
- Cut steel with torches or plasma cutter.
- Install stairs, handrails, guardrails, and other miscellaneous metals.
- Works efficiently while prioritizing safety, quality, and teamwork.
- Assist in the training/orientation of employees when needed.
- Conform to all company policies, procedures etc. (Ex. New hire sign off – safety manual, etc.)
- Promote teamwork and positive communication among employees.
- Attend and participate in miscellaneous site meetings, sharing knowledge, information and ideas as needed or requested by Project Superintendent.
- Follow directions and work duties assigned by Foreman or Project Superintendent.
- Apply construction mathematics to solve problems
- Plan work and select proper tools
- Effectively manage one’s time and deal with problems that arise
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma, or GED preferred.
- 7 years relevant experience.
- Pass a pre-employment drug test
- Have reliable transportation
