RecSports within the Division of Student Life at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville invites applications and nominations for the position of Informal Recreation Coordinator. This is an exempt, 12-month, full-time, non-tenure-track, staff position.

The mission of the RecSports department is to provide & engage our students & community with holistic recreational experiences that cultivate wellness and the Volunteer Spirit through programs, facilities, services, & employment.

The Position : Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Informal Recreation Coordinator assists with all aspects of facilities management and manages the student staff dedicated to facilities operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direction, training, oversight, and scheduling the Tennessee Recreation Center for Students (TRECS) and the Health and Physical Education Building (HPER) student staff.
  • Provide consistency in enforcement of all facility policy and procedures.
  • Coordinate space for program and event use.
  • Plan, schedule and document all employee trainings.
  • Plan and schedule one program a month during the fall and spring semesters.
  • Ensure department, university, and local policies and standards are met for TRECS and HPER.
  • Oversee all special events in TRECS and HPER.

What We Require

  • Bachelor’s degree required.Applicants must have degree completed before starting work.

What We Prefer

  • One (1) year of professional experience working with students in a campus recreation program or similar organization of comparable size
  • Master’s degree
  • Experience with When-to-Work and InnoSoft Fusion

Salary Range: This position is a Market Range 07. The anticipated salary for this position is $42,000. Final salary is c ommensurate with experience and other qualifications and is accompanied by a full university benefits package.
