Responsibilities

As Corporate Accounting Manager, and reporting to the Director of Accounting and Reporting, you will be responsible for assisting in all areas of Finance of CIBT Companies located globally:

  • Assisting with the preparation of the year-end Financial accounts and Audit in accordance with local and US GAAP.
  • Coordinate and supervise daily and month end accounting tasks (accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, travel & expense reimbursement, intercompany, fixed assets, cash management, account reconciliations, etc.) ensuring finance processes and finance policies are adhered to.
  • Manage monthly P&L review across multiple entities to identify and understand variances to budget and prior month. Prepare business commentaries for submission to head office and MD.
  • Treasury management – Prepare short term cash flow forecasting and ensuring consistency with the long-term plan.
  • Prepare US GAAP technical accounting memo’s
  • Assisting on preparation of annual budget, P&L & cash flow forecasts as appropriate, with specific focus on The Americas
  • Assist with initiatives to drive efficiencies and improve processes
  • Perform ad hoc projects and other duties as required.

Education And Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or other relevant field
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in good standing
  • At least 6 years post qualification experience, ideally with experience of industry and practice background
  • 2 years supervisory experience required
  • Expert knowledge of local reporting standard and experience working in US GAAP environment
  • Experience with Exact and Blackline desirable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be fluent English and Spanish speaking
  • Proven hands-on approach, pro-active in nature and happy to take ownership of issues and resolves
  • High level of ability to perform tasks with minimum supervision
  • Previous experience with dealing with international internal / external stakeholders would be preferable
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information

Working Conditions and Location:

  • Remote position, but candidate must be located near our headquarters in McLean, VA.
  • Hybrid schedule, flexibility—expected to come into the office when required by CEO/CFO or during audits.
  • Office environment: exposure to computer screens, working closely with others in an open office environment.
