Branch Manager I- Long Beach/ CSULB

Responsible for directing and administering the operational efforts of two Credit Union facilities (usually up to 10 people); ensuring the branch meets or exceeds all sales and service goals designated within the Branch Manager's scorecard and that established policies and procedures are followed. Responsible for driving membership growth by demonstrating leadership presence within the college campus and community. Participates in all business development and community outreach events including developing relationships with local businesses for opportunities as well as establishing a presence in Long Beach. Hires, trains, and coaches a sales, service, and referral team in accordance with the credit unions mission and values.

  • Direct, coach, motivate, hire, and discipline branch personnel; administer performance evaluations and recommend appropriate personnel actions.
  • Monitor branch operating results relative to established objectives and insure that appropriate steps are taken to correct unsatisfactory conditions.
  • Maintain communication with main office; prepare and submit standard reports; attend scheduled management meetings.
  • Monitor all branch activities to insure they are in compliance with established credit union policies and procedures.
  • Ensure budgets are met and goals are attained.
  • Represent the branch as appropriate in its relationships with members, sponsor organizations(s), suppliers, other financial institutions, and similar groups.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Experience Five years of Branch Operations experience and two years’ experience in managerial role.

Education A college degree or related experience.

Interpersonal Skills A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work will involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities becomes necessary.

Other SkillsMust have excellent communication skills. Working knowledge of regulations relating to all Credit Union deposit and loan products (i.e. Reg CC, Reg E, Reg D, Reg Z, TILA, BSA, OFAC, IRAs, Account Administration, Funds Availability, TISA). Liaison for community and college executives. Involvement in community and college events including Chamber of Commerce and college partnership.
