The Position: The King Arthur Baking School is seeking interns to join our Norwich, Vermont team June through December. Baking School Interns work side-by-side with our skilled instructor team and perform a wide variety of bakery tasks including assisting instructors and students, maintaining classroom sanitation and organization, and managing bakes to instructor specifications. Internships are full-time and paid. Interns are responsible for housing, meals, and transportation.

The Location: Norwich, VT; onsite daily

The Schedule: Seasonal Full-Time (up to nine months - medical benefits offered after three months of employment). One weekend shift per week required.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Sets up the classroom, including equipment, ingredient, and student needs
  • Maintains a clean classroom during class hours. Clears and organizes student workspace, washes dishes and cleans common work areas
  • Assists instructor in cleaning the classroom after class
  • Assists with execution of class curriculum, keeping time and overseeing production. Assists in baking and packaging student product
  • Supplies students with ingredient, equipment, and customer service, while maintaining a welcoming classroom atmosphere
  • Provides technical assistance and support to students as needed
  • Prepares for future class offerings by organizing materials, equipment and ingredients as well as executing advance prep

Experience And Education

  • Culinary degree, or current culinary students preferred.
  • Teaching experience a plus.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Indoors, a normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, or temperature changes. This role operates in a professional office environment where most work is performed at a desk. Remote work environment that meets KAB standards for work.
