No longer accepting applications

This post is based at the Diana Princess of Wales Hospital, but with responsibility for mobile scanning units associated with this site.

We are a busy, friendly department with dedicated teams of Radiographers, Consultant Radiologists, and Support Workers with a good working relationship with other modalities, clinicians and other service users.

We offer a broad range of CT and MRI scanning services, working closely with referring services to support patient pathways.

We are actively committed to CPD and PPD and encourage our staff to widen their scope of practice, working with local and regional education providers to deliver formal training in support of this.

In order to maintain a continuously high standard of patient care, maximum flexibility of our workforce is necessary and therefore staff may be required to work across all three sites within the Trust if the service demands. We consider ourselves a forward thinking department that gives support and provides opportunities for career progression to all our staff.

Once appointed you will access the many benefits of working for the NHS including an excellent pensions scheme, increasing annual leave allowance of up to 41 days per annum (including bank holidays) once you have completed 10 years’ service, multiple discount schemes and the opportunity to develop and grow your skills within the NHS through our excellent training and development schemes.

The post holder will play an essential role in leading the CT and MRI Service, understanding service demand and capacity, and developing the service to meet the needs of the local population.

As well as a clinical commitment, the post holder will work closely with the Head of CT and MRI for Scunthorpe and Goole, to ensure standardisation of services, and to provide mutual support where required. You will also work closely with other diagnostic heads of modality trust wide, as part of the wider Radiology Management Team as well as working with Heads of Service in our partner organisation, Hull University Teaching Hopsitals, to ensure services are equitable across our areas.

The post holder will report to the Care Group AHP Director and will maintain effective communication and productive relationships with all stakeholders, upholding the reputation of the Care Group and Divition at all times. They will undertake and perform a range of diagnostic examinations.

The department offers a 7 day service to its stakeholders and although the postholder will not routinely be required to work across 7 days, they will be required to ensure delivery of the 7 day service.
