We’re seeking a highly motivated Public Works Construction Inspector in Portland, OR.
Required Education
High School or GED, Community College or higher with studies in construction or technology can substitute for experience.

Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years experience in public works construction
Candidate will have previous experience as a Quality Control or Quality assurance Inspector.
Experience in public works construction as an equipment operator, laborer, pipe installer, grade checker, or other crew member installing utility mains, constructing streets and sidewalks,
Experience in public works construction working at a facility such as pump stations or treatment plants
Read and comprehend construction drawings and specification documents and preparation of as-built (as-constructed) drawings
Utilize math skills to determine slopes, material quantities, volumes, and distances.
Experience inspecting and reporting on construction projects.
Clearly communicate all job-related issues
Must have good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to interact with engineers, contractors, workers, and the public addressing their concerns on construction-related impacts
Provide written reports outlining specific details of work observed and issues or concerns.
Comprehension of reporting on computer or tablet-based software
Photo documentation
Work in a team environment
Adapt to changing priorities and unforeseen conditions.
Sewer or storm main work will require knowledge of proper trenching, backfill, and pavement repair/restoration. Curb, sidewalk, and ADA knowledge a plus.
Computer and software skills related to MS Office Suite (i.e. Word Excel- Office 365) – Including MS Project, E-Builder or BlueBeam
Pre-employment requirement-All candidates will be required to pass a background check and have an acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with State or City/County codes and ordinances a plus.
Responsibilities
Construction of stormwater collection and retention, roads and streets, trench patching, sidewalks, ADA access, curb and gutter, and streetlighting
Work may also include roads, streets, bridges, or large culvert construction.
Inspecting construction of sewer collection and conveyance mains, sewer lateral connections, CIPP or other
lining and repair operations.

Salary:
$35.00 - $42.00/hour
Bonus Pay
Bonus opportunities are available at management discretion, based on individual job performance, employee utilization, attendance, tenure, and furtherance of other non-financial corporate objectives.
