Position Summary:
Finds gas leaks and performs repairs on leaking components within PSM regulated natural gas processing plants and compressor stations. Documents the repairs and makes future recommendations to prevent leaks in a maintenance tracking program, and schedules follow up testing as required. A heavy emphasis on Leak Detection And Repair (LDAR) will be required, with special focuses on repairs including but not limited to valve and packing replacement, stainless steel tubing, gasketed flanges, and threaded connections.
Uses FLIR imaging technology to find gas leaks in various types of gas plant equipment
Repairs leaking components consisting of valves, piping, tubing and flanges
Generates work requests and follows-up on LDAR maintenance repairs to ensure completion
Maintains record keeping on monitoring and repairs to comply with EPA.
Maintain identification of LDAR components and applicability reviews.
Performs other daily operation and maintenance tasks in a routine nature.
Communicates with internal Environmental specialist to maintain complete records and ensure required repair deadlines are met
Performs other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization
Participates in Lock Out/Tag Out practices, safe work permitting and general safety requirements
Assists Environmental group with Spill reporting and response as-needed
Learns regulatory requirements in the Oil & Gas industry and stay up to date on changing regulations

Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
A minimum of 3 years of related experience repairing valves and piping. Oil and gas industry experience preferred
Possesses thorough knowledge of the safe operations and usage of hand tools required to maintain natural gas components
Ability to interpret P&ID’s (Piping and Instrumentation Diagram) for proper identification of components
Ability to work in dynamic and busy work environment and maintain a high level of detail
Strong computer skills
Ability to work extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Working Conditions
This job operates in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity. Noise level may be loud at times. Regularly stoops, squats, kneels and crouches for durations up to 5 minutes. Climb stairs. Periodically pulls/pushes doors open to move around the gas plant. Frequently may lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds. Occasionally may climb A-frame ladders.
