Job Title: Desktop Engineer

Location: Hybrid (2 days in office, 3 days remote in NYC)

Compensation: $110k to $150k base bonus benefits

Role Overview: In this role, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, maintaining, and supporting desktop infrastructure and administering corporate applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hands-on development, standardization, automation, and management of all desktop Windows 10 (or newer) image deployments and updates in both VDI and physical desktop infrastructure.
• Administering Active Directory Group Policy, including creating, editing, and evaluating GPOs that impact the desktop environment.
• Deploying, managing, and troubleshooting Windows operating systems, including application-level support.
• Creating and maintaining desktop images using Microsoft MDT and SCCM.
• Maintaining and supporting virtual desktop (VDI) platforms, monitoring the availability and performance of physical and virtual desktop systems.
• Automating desktop environment solutions and changes using scripting languages like PowerShell or Python.
• Packaging applications for automated deployment in Microsoft SCCM/Intune, VMware AppVolumes, and Microsoft App-V.
• Managing images and updates to thin client hardware using HP Device Manager.
• Serving as the final escalation point for End User Support/Service Desk and IT Operations teams for application packaging and OS-related issues.
• Collaborating with team members to support an enterprise-level infrastructure.
• Providing off-hours support when needed.

Required Skills:

• Experience with Microsoft Windows 10/11 Operating System Image Creation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft M365 Apps for Enterprise (Office 2016/365), Microsoft MDT, Microsoft SCCM, and Microsoft Intune.
• Knowledge of VMWare WorkspaceOne, application packaging and virtualization (Flexera AdminStudio, VMware AppVolumes, Microsoft App-V), and VMWare vCenter/Horizon.
• Familiarity with HP Device Manager (thin client administration).
• Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell or Python.
• Exposure to DevOps technologies like Git, Jenkins, or YAML is a plus.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field, engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of experience supporting a mission-critical environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills using standard and non-standard methods.
• Organized and methodical testing skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Expertise in scripting and automation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment supporting real-time market data and trading.
• Solid understanding of operating system administration (Windows).
• Capability to document processes and procedures appropriately.
