Delivery Driver - Retail

Job Description

Chalet’s Retail Store is looking for a friendly and reliable Delivery Driver to join our talented team who was named “America’s Most Innovative Garden Center”. Reporting directly to the Retail Engagement Manager, and interacting with all department managers, you’ll primarily be responsible for delivering items to customer homes and providing them with a lasting positive impression.

The primary responsibilities are:

• Deliver heavy items like trees, shrubs, concrete statuary, bagged stone, firewood, etc.; as well as specialty items like floral arrangements and gifts from our store to our customers’ homes.
• Pick up product at local vendors for delivery to our store and make deliveries to our affiliated location in North Chicago (near Gurnee).
• When deliveries are slow, there will be other duties assigned which could include things like boxing firewood, receiving and stocking inventory, watering plants or related tasks.
• Monetary transactions are not a responsibility of this position as all purchases are made directly at the retail store.
  
  

We are looking for a friendly, trustworthy, independent employee who possesses the following qualifications:

• Outstanding customer service skills are key as you represent all of the Chalet.
• Previous experience stocking, managing inventory, driving a forklift, delivery driver, or other related experience.
• A valid driver’s license (CDL preferred, but not necessary) and be medically qualified to drive a F450 Super Duty vehicle.
• The ability to lift 75 pounds. Forklift experience a plus.
• Basic computer and math abilities with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven history of being safe and reliable.
  
  

Pay, Benefits & Scheduling:

• This is an intermittent part-time year-round position that will work a 5-day week during our busy seasons (Spring/Summer and Fall/Holidays), and 3 shifts per week in between busy seasons (August, September, January and February).
• Our benefits include product discount and sick pay. We also pay weekly.
